Purcerverance Club Development - Rigging Workshop

Book a Rigging Workshop at your club to support your coaches’ development. Purcerverance provides a four plus hour session that includes a classroom presentation and a practical hands-on session for coaches to gain experience.

Rigging Level 1 – This four-hour session includes a 75-minute classroom session and a 3-hour practical rigging session. The workshop will review the dimensions of span/spread, oarlock height, pitch, oar length, inboard, outboard, footstop height and footstop angle. The classroom session will discuss the measurements, how they effect the stroke and typical dimensions for various crew categories and boat classes. The practical, hands on session provides coaches the opportunity to make adjustments on your club’s equipment as well as an extended opportunity for questions and discussion.

Rigging Level 2 – This workshop is geared to advanced level coaches that have experience in rigging but are looking for information on how to analyze and determine rigging efficiency. The six rigging efficiency factors, drive time, blade slip, effective stroke length, stroke position, stroke rate and ratio will be reviewed. Factors that correlate with performance will be highlighted along with the targeted measurements for various boat classes.
